  • Finding out that your child has a medical condition tends to come with an intensity of experience, a call to action, and very little space for processing your own thoughts and feelings. I offer a safe space to talk through what you have seen, how you have been feeling and what you remember. I will meet you where you are, with compassion and respect. Together we will notice your strengths and how you have used these to support yourself and others in the journey that you have begun.

  • If it feels helpful, we can identify areas where some practical skills or strategies may be beneficial. I can work with you to build these skills using evidence-based and theory-driven approaches to build on your existing strengths and capabilities.

  • Most of us can benefit from exploring the ways in which old patterns keep us “stuck” in aspects of present life, clearing space for new ways which may serve us better. For many, times of adversity can limit our resources and capacity for deeper work, however, adversity may shed light on these old ways, and create more incentive to make changes. It is normal and understandable to move between these states as the situation and its demands on you change. When the time is right, and at the right pace for you, we can delve into these areas using evidence-based and theory driven approaches.

  • I offer sessions both in-person and through Telehealth (video). Telehealth sessions are run via a secure Telehealth platform called Powerdiary.

  • Beyond the traditional therapeutic conversations described above, I appreciate that there may be other types of support which may be helpful for parents and carers of sick kids. I am open to exploring and experimenting with other mediums, and hope to use this website as a platform for presenting additional resources or options for support as they become available. To start with, have a look at the Resources section.
